Tampering Notice

Dear Customers:

We are informing you about our tampering policy:

Tampaering or obstruction to meters is an unlawful violation with applicable penalties. The account(Customer) owner is responsible for the meter and any associated acts of tampering or damage to meters.  Below are consequences related to meter tampering:

Penalties: $500 in each instance of tampering, in addition to any unmetered water usage and applicable fees to repair or replace location full smart metering system.

Criminal Charges: Tampering is subject to criminal charges, including misdemeanors and felonies, depending on the severity.

Liability for Damages: Individuals found to be in violation may be liable for triple the amount of losses and damage sustained by the utility including the cost of the repair or replacement of equipment, including field visits to secure the meter and restore the service.

Disconnection is immediate, restoration of service requires payment of all delinquent amounts owed plus civil penalties, and an additional deposit amount on the account.

Please take this matter seriously and refrain from any unauthorized adjustments or tampering with your meter.
